Raytheon has conducted power tests of the Navy's Next Generation Jammer (NGJ).
Tests focused on the effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) capability, which governs the jammer's ability to reach and affect multiple targets simultaneously. "Raytheon and the Navy developed a realistic testing program designed to ensure that the [Next Generation Jammer]NGJ electronic warfare system meets its 2021 initial operating capability commitment," said Travis Slocumb, vice president of electronic warfare systems at Raytheon's space and airborne systems division. "Completion of EIRP testing, while an early milestone, confirms our progress to date and that the program is successfully executing to both schedule and plan."
The Next Generation Jammer will replace ALQ-99 tactical jamming pods on the Navy's EA-18G Growler.
