Charles River Analytics has been awarded a Navy contract for a tactical cloud.

The 11-month contract with the Office of Naval Research calls for Charles River to "develop Navalytics, a framework for probabilistic, multi-source naval analytics and analytic services, to provide a way to rapidly develop and deploy rich, mission-critical analytics," according to a company news release. The contract is part of the Navy's tactical cloud project.

The contract is valued at $400,000, and an additional $1 million if all options are exercised. The Navy is developing the Tactical Cloud Reference Implementation (TCRI) to enable on-demand access to shared sensors and computing resources.
