Logos has demonstrated its new wide-area sensor on an aerostat.
The Simera sensor was hosted on an aerostat operated by TCOM's Persistent Surveillance Solutions Center of Excellence in Elizabeth City, N.C., according to a Logos news release.

"Simera was able to locate and track targets of interest over a city-sized area in real time," said Logos president John Marion. "And its TiVo-like recording function allowed operators to analyze activity captured within Simera's 360-degree field of view."
The 40-pound Simera is based on the Kestrel airborne wide area motion imagery (WAMI) sensor used in Afghanistan. Simera can be used on more platforms, including tactical aerostats, and faces fewer export restrictions, Logos said.
