The Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A) Increment II program has moved into the development and fielding phase. At the end of December, the IPPS-A program awarded a contract to CACI-ISS. That came shortly after it earned the Defense Acquisition Board's approval of Increment II.
The program, a web-based HR system, will ultimately maintain comprehensive pay and personnel records for every soldier in the Army — both active and reserve, along with the Army National guard — and end the Army's reliance on more than 40 old systems, according to the Army's PEO EIS office.
"The Defense Acquisition Board's approval of IPPS-A Increment II Milestone B is a vote of confidence in the program and allows us to take the next step toward fielding a system that will improve the lives of" everyone in the Army, said COL James (Darby) McNulty, IPPS-A Project Manager. "We are creating the largest human resources Enterprise Resource Planning system in the world that will integrate personnel and pay capabilities into one system for more than one million soldiers, from all three Army components."
