Raytheon has been awarded a $12.6 million contract to develop targeting software for MQ-1 and MQ-9 unmanned aircraft.

Under the contract, Raytheon will "establish a dedicated software team to develop, field, and sustain the Medium Altitude Long Endurance Tactical Multi-spectral Targeting systems software line," according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.

The work is scheduled for completion by March 2020. The contract was awarded by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
