FLIR has been awarded a $50 million Coast Guard contract to provide navigation and sensor systems.
Under the five-year contract, awarded under the Coast Guard's Scalable Integrated Navigation Systems 2 program, FLIR will supply electronics compatible with more than 2,000 Coast Guard vessels, from small boats to cutters.
"The systems include Raymarine multi-function navigation displays, radars, sonars, remote instrument displays, and autopilots," according to a company news release. "All of these components will be integrated with the Raymarine Lighthouse operating system for simple operation, single-point upgradeability, and will include advanced features specifically developed for the U.S. Coast Guard."
The contract includes an additional five-year option. Delivery of the equipment will begin by May.
