Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $149.7 million contract for infrared countermeasures.
The company will provide hardware and support for the Department of the Navy Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (DoN LAIRCM) program, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement. DoN LAIRCM encompasses combat aircraft belonging to the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Army and Special Operations Command, as well as the government of Australia.
Deliveries will include 492 advanced threat warning (ATW) sensors; 14 LAIRCM signal processor replacements; 27 control indicator units; 49 2103 signal processors; 12 infrared missile warning system sensors; 77 Guardian laser transmitter assemblies (GLTA); 51 GLTA shipping containers; 20 multi-role electro-optical end-to-end test sets; 10 smart connector assemblies; and one ATW acceptance test station to meet necessary fielding requirements.
The contract is scheduled for completion by September 2018.
