Safran has been awarded a contract by French defense procurement agency DGA to upgrade sensors for French Army helicopters. The contract calls for upgrading 55 Euroflir 350 optronics systems on Cougar and Caracal helicopters.

The gyrostabilized Euroflir 350 optronic system will incorporate a new Matis infrared imager with continuous zoom function, an eye-safe laser rangefinder, and a laser pointer, according to the company.
