Lockheed Martin has been awarded $125.2 million in contract options for Navy sonar.

The contract is for Acoustic Rapid Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Insertion (A-RCI) systems engineering and technical support. A-RCI "is a sonar system that integrates and improves towed array, hull array, sphere array, and other ship sensor processing, through rapid insertion of COTS-based hardware and software," according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems will perform engineering services to continue the development and production of A-RCI. The contract is scheduled for completion in December 2017.
