Rockwell Collins has unveiled a new perimeter surveillance radar. The PRS-500 is a compact, high-resolution radar that can detect intrusions.

"It adapts to the surveillance needs of many types of locations, due to its relatively short range and target behavior analysis algorithms," according to a Rockwell Collins news release. "In addition, the radar sensor can be combined with a camera that is controlled by radar detections, allowing for multi-target, highly accurate video visualization and real-time recording. Compared to similar surveillance radars, PSR-500 requires less energy and emits low radiation, posing no health risk to the user."

The radar is suitable for protecting a variety of locations, including airports, industrial centers and military sites.
