DISA has awarded a $1.4 million contract for ISR video services for U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM).

The contract was given to TeraLogics, a subsidiary of Cubic Corp. The contract calls for TeraLogics to expand its existing Unified Video Dissemination System (UVDS) contract into the European theater, to service AFRICOM's airborne, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (AISR) requirements.

"TeraLogics, a developer of agile software, will also support the engineering and implementation of an enterprise-wide transcoding service for the Full Motion Video (FMV) disseminated through the UVDS AISR architecture," a Cubic news release said.

The UVDS suite of services, including the routing backbone and web-based application portal, which will be installed at DISA's U.S. European Command (EUCOM) Defense Enterprise Computing Center (DECC) to directly support AFRICOM.

"This deployment of UVDS in the European region is the first iteration of the future global UVDS architecture, enabling real-time access to AISR through proximity-based unified video portals and a robust global multicast network," Cubic said.
