Maj Gen Bradford Shwedo took command of the Air Force's ISR wing in a change of ceremony today, succeeding Maj Gen John N.T. Shanahan.

Shwedo took command of the 25th Air Force, created in 2014 to oversee intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. He previously served as the director of capability and resource integration at headquarters U.S. Cyber Command at Fort Meade, Maryland.

Shanahan is to be promoted to lieutenant general and to become director for defense intelligence (warfighter support), in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence at the Pentagon.
