Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $146.7 million Navy contract to upgrade the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye.
The upgrades cover five systems, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement: the Accelerated Mid-Term Interoperability Improvement Program; Secure Internet Protocol Router Chat; Multifunctional Information Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio System; and Cooperative Engagement Capability.
The contract, with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), is scheduled to be completed by June 2019. The majority of the work will be performed in Melbourne, Florida.
