WASHINGTON ― Lisa Porter, most recently the executive vice president and director of In-Q-Tel Labs, will be nominated for the deputy undersecretary of defense for research and engineering post, according to a White House press release.
Prior to leading In-Q-Tel, the intelligence community’s capital venture firm, Porter served as the president of Teledyne Scientific & Imaging, as well as serving as the first director of Intelligence Advanced Research Project Activities in the office of the Director of National Intelligence. Porter also worked as an associate administrator at NASA , and as a program manager and senior scientist at DARPA.

Porter will support Michael Griffin, who was appointed undersecretary for defense for research and engineering in late February. Porter previously worked for Griffin when he was the NASA administrator.
