ViaSat to provide Apache helicopter satellite terminals

Boeing has chosen ViaSat to deliver satellite terminals for Apache helicopters.

ViaSat will provide KOR-24A Link 16 small tactical terminals for AH-64E Apache Guardians used by the U.S. Army and foreign users. The base contract calls for a minimum of 534 terminals to be produced over the next four years, according to a ViaSat news release. Options for the contract are forthcoming.

The terminals "will provide a Link 16 common operating picture for enhanced situational awareness and a Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW) capability to bridge communications between aircraft and ground maneuver forces," ViaSat said.
