Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $7.1 million DARPA contract to develop better computer chips.

Under the Common Heterogeneous Integration and Intellectual Properties Reuse Strategies (CHIPS) contract, Northrop Grumman will “develop the design tools and integration standards required to demonstrate modular integrated circuit designs that leverage the best of Department of Defense and commercial designs and technology,” according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.

The contract is is scheduled for completion by September 2021.
