Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) has taken delivery of new anti-jam GPS receivers.
AFSOC received next-generation Digital GPS Anti-Jam Receiver (DIGAR) airborne anti-jam and anti-spoofing technology, according to a news release by manufacturer Rockwell Collins. The new equipment has more than 10,000 times the jamming resistance of the previous model.
“The integration and testing of the new equipment is being worked through the Program Executive Office Fixed Wing (PEO-FW) at U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and represents the highest level of GPS assurance for airborne markets,” Rockwell Collins said.
“With several installations planned for both forward fit and retrofit applications, DIGAR is built on an open systems architecture that enables growth capabilities across a variety of aircraft platforms that include rotary wing, fixed wing fighter, bomber, transport aircraft and small to large unmanned aerial systems (UAS).”
