Mercury Defense Systems has been awarded a $15.4 million Air Force contract for jammers.

The contract was issued by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Lakehurst, New Jersey.

Under the contract, awarded as part of the "Advanced Techniques for Digital Radio Frequency Memories" Phase III Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) project, Mercury will deliver 28 Type II DRFM units, according to the Department of Defense contract announcement.

The work is scheduled to be completed by January 2018.
